Interpleader Compact
Allows courts to acquire personal jurisdiction over adverse claimants to property located anywhere within the compacting states. All states, U.S. jurisdic¬tions, and foreign jurisdictions are eligible to par¬ticipate. The compact relates to multiple claims against "stakeholders" (banks, insurance companies, etc.) that may be liable for duplicate payments of the same account or policy paid out to the wrong person. The compact brings all claims together in a single action.
